AUTHOR GUIDELINES
GUIDE FOR AUTHORS
AKSU Journal of Engineering and Technology is an open access peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research and review articles in multidisciplinary engineering studies. The journal only publishes works that have not been previously published; that are not under consideration for publication anywhere else and that have been approved by all co-authors.
SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
All manuscripts should be submitted electronically online at the (submission link) where you can upload all your manuscript files following the instructions given. Please ensure you provide all relevant editable source files. Failing to submit these source files might cause unnecessary delays in the review and production process.
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
All manuscripts that will be submitted to the AKSU Journal of Engineering and Technology should have the following essential components:
Title. It should be concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulae in title where possible.
Author names and affiliations. The names of the authors must be clearly indicated. This should be followed by the affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) of all the authors. Provide the full address of each affiliation, including the country and emails of the authors. Also, if available, the 16-digit ORCID of the author(s) should be included.
Corresponding author. Clearly indicate the corresponding author who will handle correspondence at all stages of the publication process. Ensure that the email and contact address of the corresponding author should be clearly identified. If the author has moved since the work described in the article was done, a “Present address” or “Permanent address” may be indicated as a footnote to that author’s name. The address at which the author did the work must be retained as the main affiliation address.
Abstract. A concise and factual abstract should be provided. The abstract should briefly state the problem being solved or addressed, the method or approach adopted, the principal results or findings and major conclusions. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references and it should not be more than 250 words.
Keywords. At least, five (5) keywords separated by commas should be provided as index terms.
Introduction. Provide an adequate background on the work but avoid a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results. Also state the objectives and the novelty of the work.
Materials and methods. Provide sufficient details to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.
Results and discussion. The results and discussion of the findings should be provided in a clear and concise manner.
Conclusion. The main conclusions of the study must be presented in a short conclusions section.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc. should be placed in a separate section at the end of the article before the references.
REFERENCES
References should be cited in the text by an Arabic numeral in square brackets, listed numerically and typed one-spaced on a separate sheet at the end of the paper. References should be arranged in the order in which they appear in the text. Only articles that have been published or are in press should be included in the references. Unpublished results should be cited as such in the text. References in non-English language should be translated in English. The original language must be shown in brackets. In the reference list, the styling, punctuation, and capitalization should be as follows:

Formulae should be typewritten (Equation Editor) with ample space around them. The meanings of all symbols must be given immediately after the equation in which they are first used. Equations should be sequentially numbered (on the right side of the equation and in parentheses). Subscripts and superscripts should be clearly indicated. Greek letters and other non-Latin symbols should be typed using Times New Roman Gr or Symbols.
Units should be given in SI system. They should be in the form, e.g., g cm-1 rather than g/cm.
Figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. All figures should be supplied on separate sheets. All illustrations must be readable when reduced to a width of 75 mm (single column figure) or 160 mm (double column figure). Photographs, charts, and diagrams are all to be referred to as “Figures(s)” and should be numbered consecutively in the order to which they are referred. They should accompany the manuscript but should not be included within the text. All illustrations should be clearly marked with the figure number. Figure captions should be typed single-spaced on the same page as the figure. Figures should not include text. Graphic files should be in TIFF or JPG with resolution not less than 300 dpi.
Tables should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals in the order of appearance in the text. Each table should be given on separate sheet with a short descriptive title directly above it, with essential footnotes below.
Submission and Processing Charges
Article Submission Charge of N5,000 ($5) is to be paid before any paper is reviewed. If the paper is accepted,N35,000 ($35) will be paid as Article Processing Charge before the paper is published.
Please, visit (link to journal payment site) for payment instructions. For further enquiries, kindly contact AKSU Journal of Engineering and Technology via aksujet@aksu.edu.ng.
The percentage similarity papers submitted to this journal must not be more than 20%.
SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it submitted to another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in editable format such as Microsoft Word.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
First submission for peer-reviewed must not include author(s) details to ensure a blind review process.
