Copyright Policy

All articles published in the AKSU Journal of Engineering and Technology (AKSUJET) are protected under applicable copyright laws. Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors are required to complete and sign the Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) form. This agreement ensures that the rights necessary for publication and dissemination are lawfully transferred to the Faculty of Engineering, Akwa Ibom State University, the official publisher of the journal.

By signing the CTA, authors retain ownership of the intellectual content of their work while granting the publisher the non-exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, archive, and display the article in any format or medium. This includes print, electronic, and digital forms, as well as translation and indexing rights.

The copyright transfer helps safeguard the integrity of the published content and allows the journal to preserve it for the academic community.

Creative Commons License

All publications under AKSUJET are distributed in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under this license:

• Readers are free to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) for any purpose, including commercial use.

• Proper attribution must be given to the original author(s) and to AKSUJET as the original publisher.

• A link to the license must be provided, and any modifications must be clearly indicated.

This open-access model ensures unrestricted distribution of scholarly work and encourages knowledge dissemination, collaboration, and academic growth globally.

Author Rights

While authors transfer publishing rights to the journal, they retain significant privileges, including:

1. The right to use their article for teaching, presentations, and internal institutional purposes.

2. The right to deposit the accepted manuscript in institutional repositories or on personal academic web pages, provided appropriate citation to AKSUJET is given.

3. The right to reuse figures, data, or excerpts from their work in future publications, with proper acknowledgment of the original source.

AKSUJET encourages authors to actively share their research to maximize visibility and citation impact, as long as it aligns with the CC BY 4.0 license terms.

Third-Party Material

Any copyrighted material (e.g., figures, tables, or datasets) included in a manuscript must be properly attributed to its original source and used with written permission from the copyright holder if required.
Authors bear full responsibility for ensuring compliance with third-party copyright restrictions.

Third-party materials not covered under the CC BY 4.0 license must be used in accordance with their respective copyright notices or terms of reuse.

Open Access Policy

AKSUJET operates a fully open access publishing model. All articles are freely available online to readers immediately after publication without subscription or paywall barriers.

This model supports the journal’s mission to enhance global accessibility of engineering research, promote scientific collaboration, and accelerate innovation in technology.

Authors are not charged for access, while the manuscript handling fee (paid post-acceptance) supports editorial operations, digital archiving, and permanent online availability.
