Waiver Policy

  • Overview

The AKSU Journal of Engineering and Technology (AKSUJET) operates as a self-sustaining open-access journal. The publication does not receive financial support from any external institution, government agency, or donor. All operational costs—such as editorial management, staff remuneration, website maintenance, web hosting, peer-review coordination, and digital archiving—are funded through manuscript handling fees paid by authors after acceptance of their manuscripts.

These fees ensure the journal maintains its high standards of publication quality, technical integrity, and open accessibility for readers worldwide.

    Manuscript Handling Fee

Authors are required to pay a manuscript handling fee only after their paper has successfully passed the peer-review process and received formal acceptance for publication. No fees are charged at the submission stage.

    The handling fee covers:

    • Editorial and peer-review management

    • Layout and formatting services

    • Web hosting and digital preservation

    • Indexing and online accessibility

    • DOI assignment and open-access archiving

Detailed information on current processing fees is available on the journal’s website under the “Author Fees” section.

    Open Access Policy

AKSUJET is committed to open access publishing, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible online without any subscription or access charges. Authors retain copyright over their works while granting the journal permission to publish, distribute, and archive them for global dissemination.

This policy supports the principle that scholarly research should be available to all readers, fostering innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

    Waiver Policy

Recognizing the diversity of authors’ financial capacities, AKSUJET offers partial or full waivers to authors who demonstrate genuine financial hardship or come from low-income regions.

Waiver applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted on the same day as manuscript submission.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Authors from Low-Income Countries (LICs), as classified by the World Bank, may receive up to 75% waiver.

    • Authors from Lower-Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) may receive up to 40% waiver.

    • Applicants must provide verifiable justification and institutional endorsement (if available).

    Application Procedure

To apply for a waiver, the corresponding author must send a formal request to the Accounts Unit through support@aksujet.org with the following details:

    1. Manuscript number and title

    2. Corresponding author’s full name, institutional affiliation, and country

    3. Co-authors’ affiliations and countries

    4. Reason for requesting a waiver, supported by evidence where possible

Decisions on waiver requests are communicated within two weeks of application. The editorial board reserves the right to approve or decline any waiver request.

    Important Notice

AKSUJET upholds fairness and transparency in all financial matters. Authors should note that:

    • Manuscript processing fees are payable only after formal acceptance.

    • Fee waivers are available only upon written application and editorial approval.

    • Payment does not influence editorial or review decisions.

    • All transactions are conducted securely through the official journal account.
